A highlight of the auction: Historical significant collection of dolls from the 19th century

Dear doll enthusiasts and friends of the Ladenburger Spielzeugauktion,

we are proud to introduce you our highlight of the spring auction 2021:

The significant Mariluise Grochtmann collection. This collection is international renowned and was gathered with solid historical knowledge.

It will be auctioned at our auction house on March 26th and 27th, 2021.

Mrs. Grochtmann already started the collection in the early 1950s, so the most items are in excellent untouched condition.

This rare items showing the broad spectrum of the whole 19th century with main focus on German doll manufacturers. Particularly noteworthy are the early rare versions of the German child's dolls that are similar to the French Bébés. Manufactories such as KPM and Meissen are only two large manufactories that are mentioned here.

The auctioned dolls rarities will be offered in all sorts of materials, like porcelain, wax, papier mâché, and wood. The offered range is completed by wonderful original Biedermeier doll clothes and accessories.

Many pieces of the collection will be already known to the collectors from international specialized press and books.
